Our shipbuilding facilities are responsible for some of the best and most advanced ships in the world.
Synonymous with quality and excellence through a highly skilled workforce, we are currently building six Type 45 Destroyers for the UK Royal Navy, three Ocean Patrol Vessels for the Royal Navy of Oman and three Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, with construction to begin on the Future Aircraft Carrier in 2009.
BVT also works with potential export customers to develop contracts requiring 'in country' construction of ships. Using the vast experience of our workforce we can utilise offshore design, develop the capability of an existing shipbuilding facility, or establish an entirely new build site. BVT works with overseas customers to provide the best solution for them. Overseas build programmes and the in-country construction of ships is a key element of our capability and we have a solid track record of teaming with indigenous shipbuilders to increase their skill, knowledge and facilities. We are currently managing such a programme for the Hellenic Navy and previous customers include the USA, Brazil, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
