Oman

BVT signed a contract for three Ocean Patrol Vessels (OPVs) for the Royal Navy of Oman. The first vessel, which is approximately 100-metres in length, is scheduled for hand-over in early 2010 and the subsequent ships at six-month intervals. The programme is valued at around £400 million over a five-year period, including initial support.

This is a major export success for the UK and maintains the long and successful relationship with the Royal Navy of Oman, built up over the past 25 years.

Chile

In September 2005 the Government to Government agreement for three Type 23 frigates was signed between the UK and Chile.

BVT is responsible for the delivery and ongoing management of the contract to prepare and deliver three ex-Royal Navy frigates to the Chilean Navy.

Two of the ships, Almirante Cochrane and Almirante Lynch have been delivered to Chile and are now in service with the Chilean Navy. The third ship, Almirante Condell, will be in service at the end of summer 2008.
