BVT lends its leading-edge culture to its innovative ways of financing naval programmes which fits well with the Offshore Patrol and Survey vessel range.
Recent examples include HMS Clyde, an Offshore Patrol Vessel Helicopter (OPV H) which is privately owned and chartered by the UK MoD for a period of five years. HMS Clyde also includes a contracting for availability arrangement which involves 24 hour global maintenance including repairs and spares - a unique challenge for a ship that operates 8,000 miles away. This follows on from a similar arrangement with the UK MoD for the River Class Offshore Patrol Vessels which operate under a similar leasing and contracting for availability basis, which was extended for a further five years.
Two Echo Class Oceanographic Hydrographic Survey Vessels are operated in a similar way. The service provided involves the support of two ships for approximately 25 years and includes worldwide support. BVT manages the maintenance periods in the area of operation for each vessel at locations across the world.
Following on from our success with the River Class BVT has now introduced a 90m Offshore Patrol Vessel, three of which are currently in build for the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.
